In this episode Daniel Thomson and I talk casually about his new design the Hydroshort.

The Hydroshort is a great Daily Driver for 3-6’ surf. I did catch a few 2’ waves on it and it went well but the 2’ surf had a bit of push to it. I don’t recommend the Hydroshort as a groveler in 1-2’ mushy surf.

After putting the Hydroshort through the paces in multiple wave sizes and conditions I liked it best as a Thruster with Medium fins and I highly recommend this board for Intermediate to Advanced surfers.

My Height: 5’9”
Weight: 160 lb or 72.5 kg
Hydroshort Board Size: 5’6” x 18 9/16 x 2 5/16 Liters 25.5

Tomo "Hydroshort" - Surfboard Attributes, and Model Comparisons

In this episode Daniel Thomson breaks down the board attributes for the Hydroshort. I also ask Tomo to explain the differences between the Hydroshort and his other models the Hydronaut, SKX and Cymatic.
