In this episode, Noel and the crew put the new Slater Designs “Mindcraft” through extensive testing to uncover where this futuristic shape performs best. Noel begins his sessions at Waco Surf riding the Mindcraft as a Thruster with his signature Neutral template fins — a setup that allows him to truly feel how the board pivots, transitions rail-to-rail, and generates drive through turns.

As the testing continues with multiple fin templates and configurations, the Mindcraft starts to reveal its true personality. After extensive experimentation, Noel ultimately finds the board comes alive most as a Quad — unlocking more speed, flow, and projection through turns.

Meanwhile, Joel puts the Mindcraft to the test at his home beach breaks before taking it on a surf trip with friends, giving multiple surfers the opportunity to ride and evaluate the board in different conditions. As Joel fine tunes the setup, he discovers the board feels best to him as a Thruster paired with a Pivot template. 

Ian from Wooly TV pushes the Mindcraft across a variety of surf breaks and then takes the testing even further by riding it in the wave pool to see how it performs in more controlled conditions. With multiple surfers, different wave types, and a wide range of fin experiments, this episode delivers a deep dive into how the Mindcraft performs across different styles and setups.
