NEXT LEVEL UP IN CARBON FIBER FINS
The newest technology and highest quality in carbon fins, Prepreg Carbon fiber is carbon cloth impregnated with a consistent 35% epoxy resin-to-cloth ratio. This ratio allows the perfect amount of resin to saturate the cloth. The material used is a combination of Twill/Uni carbon fiber prepreg. Each fin is handmade using a lay-up process (placing each layer of prepreg carbon by hand) onto the mold surface with specific flex patterns to achieve desired strength and flex goals. The prepreg carbon layup used in creating our fins is a superior, high-quality process of heat and pressure curing to produce light, high-quality fins with structural integrity. These fins stand alone with superior materials and molding processes.
Noel’s desire to come out with our Lightning Series Prepreg Carbon Tech was purely performance driven for surfers who like precision through turns with lighter equipment. Whether the waves are well overhead or small and mushy, these Prepreg Carbon fins feel lively and offer predictability when you push hard through turns. While most carbon fins are stiff, these offer consistent flex, projection and drive due to the proprietary core.
Noel especially likes his small-wave surfing equipment super light and responsive. When the waves are head-high and below, Noel prefers surfboards in special constructions (EPS/Epoxy, XTR, Dark Arts, or other carbon surfboard layups) that offer more pop, projection, and drive through turns. These types of surfboard constructions are light weight with better flex properties to help generate speed easier in small waves. These Prepreg Carbon fins complement all surfboard constructions without over flexing to allow optimal and consistent performance. These Prepreg Carbon fins are roughly a 4 in flex on a scale of 1-10 (1 being very stiff and 10 being super flexible).

Fin Descr.
After testing and reviewing so many twin fin boards, my desire was to design a high-performance twin fin template with good hold, drive, and fast directional changes to maximize progressive twin-fin surfing. The HP Twins have a wide base, generous fin area, depth, and rake to offer good hold and drive through turns. These fins will take you rail to rail faster with exceptional pivot and tighter turns in the pocket without the need for a trailer fin. The refined tip promotes progressive surfing with release at your discretion.
For Surfers: (63.5 – 99.79 Kg / 140 - 220 lbs)
• Quick pivot
• Fast directional changes
• Good hold at high speeds
• Increase drive through turns
• Promotes progressive surfing
• Controlled release at will

Construction
Construction:
Prepreg Carbon fiber is carbon cloth impregnated with a consistent 35% epoxy resin-to-cloth ratio. This ratio allows the perfect amount of resin to saturate the cloth. The material used is a combination of twill/Uni carbon fiber prepreg. The prepreg carbon layup used in creating our fins is a superior, high-quality process of heat and pressure curing to produce light, high-quality fins with structural integrity. These fins stand alone with superior materials and molding processes.
Unlike Other Composite Fins:
Other molded fins inject resin to saturate and fill the gaps where they lack cloth material. Cloth material is what gives you composite strength and flex. Resin is only the glue that holds everything together. Too much resin will add weight and create a more brittle lamination. Other fin processes also lack heat, pressure, and strength to control flex and precision to maximize performance.
Carbon Process
Molds:
An in-house CNC machine precisely cuts space-grade aluminum to create the fin mold, which produces identical fin after fin -- perfect consistent, foil and, finish.
These fins are handmade using a lay-up process (placing each layer of prepreg carbon by hand) onto the mold surface with specific flex patterns to achieve desired strength and flex goals.
After the prepreg lay-up process is completed into the mold, we add our closed-cell water-resistant propriety core.
Once the hand construction of the fin is complete, we press the layed-up molds in a heated, platen hydraulic press under intense pressure of 90,000 lbs. per square inch. The epoxy resin is cured with heat (thermos-set), thus the heated platens.
When it comes to composites, the more pressure while curing, the stronger the part.
After hydraulic press, fins are hand sanded three times to achieve perfect leading/trailing edges and perfect fitting into fin boxes.
