In this episode, Noel sits down with shaper Duke Aipa to introduce a special new line of boards carrying the Kolby Aipa (KA) name. The first model in the series is “The Disciple.” This KA line is dedicated to honoring Kolby’s surfing and design vision—pure, performance-minded thruster boards. A few months ago, Kolby tragically passed away in an electric bike accident. Before that happened, he and Duke were already developing new models built around Kolby’s style and his preference for riding three fins. In this video, Duke walks us through the design thinking behind The Disciple—what makes it different, what Kolby was aiming for, and how the board came to life. Duke also opens up about who Kolby was—his faith in Jesus, his heart for people, and the impact he had on everyone around him.
